One of the big mistakes many MLM’ers make is creating a complicated and cumbersome network marketing system.

I remember vividly when venturing into network marketing many years ago and first heard about the K.I.S.S. principles. To translate, it means “keep it simple stupid” and if you have been offended don’t worry, so was I.

At the time I thought “who is this guy calling stupid?” But the message soon became ingrained into the pysche and it was very powerful. Complicate your network marketing system and you won’t have a hope in Hades of building a duplicable downline.

The Less Steps The Better

Think about the process which sold you on your MLM opportunity. If you were new to the business then you would not have understood the process taking place at the time. But the bottom line was, you were recruited into the business as part of a system.

The problem with trying to alter a system is adding extra steps. Too many steps and you’ll only confuse your down line. Why? Because what may appear simple and doable to you may not resonate with your team.

Network marketing is all about creating duplication within your organization. People want to be able to duplicate the success of their upline. Huge duplication happens when something is already successfully in place and can be mirrored by others.

Being able to transfer that knowledge in the simplest form possible: meaning the less steps one has to take the better. The more hoops people have to jump through in your network marketing system the less duplicable it will be.
